Less Training, More....

For agents, I've noticed that there's a lot of emphasis on building more specifically about sales. How to pull leads, negotiations, etc. Those are really good skills, and I truly believe they can help many salespeople elevate their abilities in the market. That said, many of these sessions and educational processes can be pretty expensive processes and, from my experience, there are a large number of agents who take these courses and waste money.

As harsh as that sounds, it's true. They waste money because without the proper foundations of a business, the skills that they learn at these training's are skills that can't be properly applied.

How to door knock? You need process.

Social Media advertising? You need time.

How to use your CRM? You need organization.

How to negotiate? You need relationships.

How to build a team? You need to create a business first.

Don't get me wrong, these are fantastic skills, but without working on creating a strong foundation for your business to succeed, you're throwing money at symptoms of a struggling business, not the actual core issues.

Many agents who've been in the real estate industry for the last 5 years already know most of what they need to know. You've been to training sessions with your Broker, you've taken seminars, free training meetings.

It's not about what you know, at this point, it's about implementation. It's about doing the work, taking the step forward to sit down, plan your next steps and stay accountable to what you've created and committed to.

What I've noticed is that truly successful real estate professionals have several things they do that make them successful. Some of them weren't even aware they did them, it was natural instinct.

....and one of those things was being able to keep themselves accountable, or they were able to find someone who kept them accountable.

How do you keep yourself accountable? How do you make sure you're doing the work that you need to do, day-in and day-out?
